Submitting Co-sell Opportunities

Submit a Salesforce opportunity to AWS ACE for co-sell directly from the flow Assistant — without leaving Salesforce.

Prerequisites

  • flow Salesforce package installed and configured
  • Field mapping configured for at least one template
  • A valid AWS ACE connection in flow

What is a Partner-Originated Opportunity?

A Partner-Originated Opportunity (POO) is an opportunity you initiate and share with AWS ACE to request co-sell support. You manage the deal in Salesforce; flow keeps AWS ACE in sync.

Use a POO when:

  • You have an active deal and want AWS field team support
  • You want AWS visibility into a strategic opportunity for tracking purposes

How to submit an opportunity

Step 1: Open the opportunity in Salesforce

Navigate to the relevant opportunity record. No special setup is needed on the opportunity itself before this step.

Step 2: Find the flow Assistant and click Sync

In the opportunity page, open flow Assistant and click Sync. This starts the submission to AWS ACE.

Step 3: Select a Field Mapping template

Choose the field mapping template you want to use for this opportunity and click Sync.

?Tip: Templates are reusable defaults. You can adjust individual field values for a specific opportunity in the next step without changing the template itself.

Step 4: Complete any missing required fields

If required ACE fields are empty, the sync pauses and highlights the missing fields in red. Click Field Mapping Preview to review and fill them in, then click Sync again.

Step 5: Confirm submission

After syncing, the opportunity status changes to Processing — meaning flow has sent the data to AWS. No further action is needed at this point.

Keeping your opportunity up to date

Once approved, you have two options for keeping ACE in sync with your Salesforce data:

Auto-Sync updates ACE automatically whenever the opportunity changes in Salesforce. Enable it from the flow Assistant on the opportunity page.

Force Sync lets you manually push an update at any time — useful if Auto-Sync is off or you want to send a specific change immediately.

Troubleshooting

I can't edit the opportunity after syncing. The opportunity is in Pending Approval. AWS is reviewing it — editing is disabled until it's approved.

The Sync button is disabled or shows missing fields. Required fields are empty. Open Field Mapping Preview and complete the fields highlighted in red.

I got a "Duplicate Opportunity" error. AWS identifies opportunities by the Partner Project Title field. Make sure each opportunity has a unique title — e.g. "Q1 Initiative – Phase 1" instead of "Q1 Initiative."

I updated the opportunity, but AWS didn't receive the changes. Auto-Sync may be off, or the opportunity is still pending approval. Click Force Sync to push the update manually.
